Photos: Troops arrests a Boko Haram commander and a mechanical Engineer

Troops of Sector 5, 27 Task Force Brigade, 3 Division, in conjunction Civilian JTF from Maiduguri on Thursday, June 16, arrested a suspected Boko Haram terrorist, Ibrahim Jagwal, aged 38 at Gishiwa Dabua area of Potiskum, Yobe State. The suspected terrorist who turned out to be the Ameer of the Boko Haram Terrorists at Tumbin Gini, Abadam Local Government Area of Borno State, also led the team to Garejin Audu in Potiskum, where another terror suspect, Audu Ahmadu, (alias Condemned) aged 45 years, was arrested same day. Preliminary investigation confirms that Audu Ahmadu is a Boko Haram Engineer who specializes in repairs of automobiles for the Boko Haram terrorists group. It was further confirmed he was at the garage to repair 2 vehicles. The vehicles were recovered by the team, while the suspects have been taken into custody for onward movement to Joint Interrogation Centre. Heartbreaking pics: Hundreds face death in Bama IDP Camp, daily death toll of 18 to 21 is recorded due to starvation

Hundreds of the Internally Displaced Persons in Bama Camp are at the risk of dying, according to the International Centre For Investigative Reporting. On May 5, 2016, health workers were alerted that some people needed help within the Internally Displaced Persons, IDP, camp in Bama, 70 kilometres from Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.  (pictured is a plate of soup meant for seven people!) On getting there, five women were seen lying on the ground, some gasping while others were barely conscious. Three of the women were with children, including a little girl sucking her mother's breast while her brother lay on the ground with his head on the mother's leg. The only means of transportation in the camp are handcarts but by the time some were brought to transport the women to the clinic, two of them had died, one of them being the woman whose daughter was still sucking her breast.                                  The Former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, has on the wee hours of Tuesday morning, expressed displeasure with the recent reports of allegations of corruption against her, by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government. The former Oil Minister’s reaction came at the heels of a documentary by Al Jazeera, in which it was alleged that her piece of property in Abuja worth $18 million and her jewelry worth $2 million, were part of proceeds of alleged corruption. Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump in his Atlanta rally on Wednesday June 15th stated that he will welcome North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un to the U.S for Nuclear talks if he becomes president. If he came here, I would accept him,” Trump said during the rally. “But I wouldn’t give him a state dinner like China, or all these other nations who are ripping us off.” “It’s opening a dialogue, We shouldn’t be having state dinners at all, he continued. Rescued malnourished Sambisa Children evacuated

On Monday June 13th and yesterday, Wednesday June 15th, the Executive Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima, instructed Empower 54 and Borno SEMA to immediately evacuate the  malnourished children rescued from Sambisa Forest by the Nigerian Army in Bama. Empower 54 has the difficult task of identifying the patients to be moved. Borno SEMA is providing shelter, food and other items for their care while Doctors Without Borders (MSF) are providing medical care. On Monday, over 1,000 extremely malnourished children were evacuated in 15 large school busses to a secure treatment location in Maiduguri provided by the Borno State government. Yesterday, despite heavy rains, Empower 54 was in the rain for over 3hours selecting children to be evacuated and successfully moved over 500 people. Kano governor meets with the husband of woman killed over alleged blasphemy

Kano state governor, Umar Ganduje have met with Pastor Mike Agbahime, the husband of the Igbo woman, Bridget Patience, a deeper life member, who was beaten to death for alleged blasphemy in Kofar Wambai market in Kano on Thursday June 2nd. He met the husband of the deceased in company of the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria CAN (Kano Chapter) & leader of the Igbos of Kano. The governor condemned the act in its totality and condoled the husband stressing that “the killing of his 74 year old wife is illegal, unjustifiable and she is without fault”.
