Learn how to use some Cooking Terms

SHONG’S BLOG has provided some cooking terms for the ladies, women and the men who are good in the game. Read below and know how to use the terms. Boil : To heat a liquid until bubbles break on the surface or to cook in boiling water. Broil : To use direct heat to cook. Coat : To cover entire surface with a mixture such as flour or bread crumbs. Core : Using a sharp knife, remove the core/seeds of a fruit. Cream : To stir one or more foods until they are soft. Crisp-tender : Describes the "doneness" of vegetables when they are cooked only until tender and remain slightly crisp in texture. Cut in : To mix fat into dry ingredients using a pastry blender, fork, or two knives, with as little blending as possible until fat is in small pieces. Dice : To cut into small, square-shaped pieces. Taraba State’s Poly Matriculate over 1000 Students in Jalingo Campus

  Over one thousand students for diploma programmed in the college of science and Technology of Taraba State poly swore the matriculation oath of the institution at the poly auditorium in Jalingo today. The Rector of the institution Mr. Gladson Dogo Sallah who made the students appreciate the essence of the solemn exercise said, signing of oath as well as the entry of their names into the matriculation register authenticated their studentship of the institution.  According to the Rector, “I wish to remind the students that matriculation is just an occasion of accepting them into the polytechnic system. Their survival depends on compliance to the rules and provision of the student’s handbook. 15 year old child bride accused of killing husband discharged and acquitted

15 year old Wasila Tasi'u, the child bride who poisoned and killed her 35-year-old husband, Umar Sani and his friends in April 2014, has been discharged and acquitted by a Kano High Court sitting in Gezawa today June 9th. The presiding Judge, Justice Mohammed Yahaya said based on the formal request from the state government asking for the case to be dropped, the court had no choice but to drop it and discharge the accused. "I have no alternative than to pronounce according to law that the application of ‘nolle prosequi’ (unwilling to pursue) is hereby granted. In consequence, therefore, you, Wasila Tasi’u, are hereby discharged.” he said

88 Eritrean Christians in Libya by ISIS

The ISIS terror group kidnapped 88 Eritrean Christians from a people-smugglers' caravan in Libya last week, a U.S. defense official confirmed Monday. The defense official confirmed initial reports of the mass kidnapping after seeing a recent intelligence report. The convoy was ambushed by militants south of Tripoli before dawn this past Wednesday morning. Meron Estafanos, the co-founder of the Stockholm-based International Commission on Eritrean Refugees, said that the group of migrants included "about 12 Eritrean Muslims and some Egyptians. They put them in another truck and they put 12 Eritrean women Christians in a smaller pick-up". Estafanos said that the militants had initially stopped the truck and demanded that the Muslims on board make themselves known. z   Taraba State House of Assembly today had elected Hon Peter Abel Diah as the new speaker of the state legislative arms of government. Hon Diah is a  Member Representing MGAMGA Constituency at The Taraba State House Of Assembly. Hon Abel Diah took over the mantle of the house leadership from Dr. Mark Useni who was re-elected to represent Takum two constituency. The elected speaker was nominated by Joseph Kunini and was seconded by Bar Hosea Ibi who was a member representing Takum two. The nomination was unanimously endorsed by the entire house. Diah was chosen, with Alhaji Mohammed Gwampo from Yorro State Constituency elected as Deputy Speaker. Mr Joseph Kunini, representing Lau State Constituency, retained his former position of Majority Leader of the house.
